The Past is The Future

Sometimes we find that our deepest truths aren't new at all—they're echoes of insights we’ve had before, temporarily forgotten and then rediscovered.

I stumbled upon a journal entry from June 2021 today.

Reading it felt like having a conversation with a past version of myself who, despite being in a different season of life, had already grasped what I’m only now putting into words.

In 2021, I wrote about finding peace in creating without the pressure of constant engagement, metrics, or validation.

I spoke of making art accessible and keeping my purpose clear and pure. Most striking was this line: “My purpose is to share freely. And I truly want to make a difference.

What my past self understood, and what I’m rediscovering now, is that true creative fulfillment comes not from metrics or monetization, but from the simple act of sharing what we know and love with others.

As I wrote then, “My reach may be very small but it will make a difference in the lives it touches and that, for me, is enough.

Finding this journal entry feels like receiving a permission slip from my past self—an affirmation that this path I'm choosing now isn't just a reaction to current circumstances, but a return to values I've held all along.
